    Description

We're seeking a volunteer Grant Writer to help us translate our work into funding. A Faith That Does Justice is an all-volunteer interfaith nonprofit serving Greater Boston. We bring people of faith together around direct service and advocacy — including English language instruction for more than 200 immigrants each year and more than 5,000 nutritious lunches each year for families facing food insecurity.

You'll join a small, collegial Advancement team where your writing directly determines what programs we can sustain and grow. Because we're an all-volunteer organization, every dollar raised goes to the mission rather than overhead.

    What You'll Do

      • Draft and submit grant one or two proposals per month to foundations and other institutional funders
      • Tailor narratives to each funder's priorities and application requirements
      • Maintain organized records of applications, deadlines, and funder communications
      • Work closely with the Grant Researcher to move promising prospects into submitted proposals
      • Meet weekly with the Advancement team

    What We're Looking For

      • Previous grant writing experience, ideally in the nonprofit sector
      • Strong writing and communication skills
      • Comfort with Excel, Word, and online research for organizing and tracking applications
      • Willingness to get up to speed on AFTDJ by reviewing recent proposals
      • Availability for a weekly Advancement team meeting
