Details
Description
Youth for Diabetes Awareness Association (YDAA) is seeking volunteers who enjoy storytelling and connecting with others!!
As a Diabetes Outreach Reporter, you will interview someone living with diabetes to learn about their experiences, challenges, and daily life. Interviews may be conducted by email, phone, or video call. You will write their story into an article that may be published on YDAA's Medium publication with your name credited as the author.
Interviewees must always give permission before their story is shared publicly.
This flexible, long-term volunteer role allows you to complete interviews whenever you choose and continue earning volunteer hours throughout the year.
Responsibilities
- Interview individuals living with diabetes
- Obtain permission before publishing stories
- Write engaging articles based on interviews
- Submit stories for publication
Once accepted, we'll let you know how many volunteer hours you'll earn for each piece you complete, and we can provide a verification letter for your hours if you need to submit them for a school, club, or scholarship requirement. You don't need any prior experience! A YDAA board member will be available to guide you, and we'll share detailed instructions along with examples of great work from other volunteers to help you get started. This is a great opportunity to build and strengthen your skills while making a real impact.
